Starting in Nairobi and ending on the shores of the delightful Indian Ocean, this is a comprehensive safari that visits four extremely diverse wilderness areas. From the lakes and undulating hills of the Rift valley, this is a great start to a safari and beach holiday.

Day 1

Upon arrival into Nairobi, clients will be met and transferred to the Panafric hotel or Anga Africa Afternoon at leisure.
Overnight at the Panafric in a superior room on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2

Leaving the Nairobi hotel after breakfast, you will be taken to Karen Blixen for a tour then travel towards Kenya’s fertile highlands and head down the Rift Escarpment on a road built by Italian prisoners of war during World War II. Look for the charming chapel they built at the foot of the escarpment. You’ll pass the impressive Longonot earth satellite station as you head across the Valley to Narok, and then travel across acres of wheat and barley, before you reach the Masai Mara in time for lunch. Following lunch and a siesta, there is an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge as the sun sets.

Day 4

Leaving the Masai Mara after breakfast, you’ll travel across the ‘breadbasket’ of Kenya, where acres of wheat and barley litter the landscape as you head north to Narok, the district headquarters of this part of Maasai land. Now travel across the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley, keeping an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle as you head up the Mau Escarpment, before arriving at Lake Nakuru lodge for lunch. The waters here are often colored shimmering pink flamingo, from thousands of the beautiful birds lining its shores. After lunch you will take an afternoon game drive in Nakuru National park before continuing to Lake Nakuru for overnight.

Day 5

After breakfast, drive to nearby Lake Nakuru National Park with picnic lunch to spend the day enjoying game drives in the park. In the late afternoon, return to the camp for the evening with some time to freshen up, unwind and perhaps enjoy a swim and a cocktail before dinner and overnight. Overnight at Sopa lodge.

Day 6

After an early breakfast you will depart with a picnic lunch, leaving Lake Nakuru behind, you continue towards Nairobi for a flight or SGR (train) to Mombasa, where you will be picked and driven to your hotel in Northcoast/south coast.

Day 7

Enjoy the Sandy beaches on the ocean while in your hotel relaxing for the day.

Day 8

You will be picked very early in the morning for a drive to the exquisite Kisite-Mpunguti Marine National Park located approximately 1-hour dhow ride from Shimoni, near the Tanzanian border. The pristine clear blue waters are a paradise for snorkeling, diving and dolphin spotting. This will be accompanied by a tour of the Wasini island, offering an excellent site for picnicking. Additionally, an optional tour of the Shimoni historical caves, where slaves were detained, shall be available. Then drive to Diani beach for a beach stroll and photography.

Day 9

After breakfast rest in your hotel till noon when we will visit bombolulu workshop where the physically handicapped make curving’s and ornaments.

Day 10

A briefing from our professional driver guide before driving to Shimba Hills Game Reserve. Set deep in the heart of an ancient tropical rain forest, Shimba Hills National Reserve’s 192 sq. km rolling hills and rainforest have been reserved for Kenya’s last breeding herds of the Sable antelope. Elephant, buffalo, civet, serval and genet cat share this scenic home, and can be sighted most evenings at Shimba’s floodlit waterhole. Game drive enroute to Sheldrick falls for a hike and later proceed for a full course Late lunch at Shimba Hills Green Lodge, in the late afternoon return to your residence.

Day 11

A visit to old town reveals the rich culture and architectural heritage of Mombasa. Fort Jesus built by the Portuguese in the 16th Century: Narrow streets, ancient mosques and picturesque residential houses evoke the islands medieval past. You will see the old dhow harbor, visit the bazaar and the market. Then drive through the Elephant Tusks on Moi Avenue and call in at the Akamba woodcarvers, where you can see the carvers at work and buy souvenirs.
Lunch at the forodhani restaurant in old town. In the afternoon, visit Dr. Rene Haller’s Nature Park (Haller Park), former quarries now reforested and home to many animals.

Day 12

Winding up on the great moments, we pick you from your hotel to the airport for your flight back home.
